AYERS, Mass. — Barbara Lorraine (Lamb) Therrien, 69, of Madrid, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Dec. 29, after a long illness.
Barbara was born June 30, 1942, in Rangeley, the daughter of the late Virgil and Ruth (Hinkley) Lamb. Barbara was educated in Rangeley schools and graduated from Rangeley High School in 1960.
On June 12, 1971, in Rangeley, she married Dennis Therrien of Madrid and they made their home in Pepperell, Mass., where she lived and worked for many years. In 1993, they moved home to the Rangeley Lakes Region, settling in Rangeley Village and then in Madrid in 2007. She worked in Rangeley at Riddle’s Drug Store until it closed.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Marti) Therrien, her grandson Bryce Therrien, and her granddaughter, Brooklyn Fitzpatrick, of Pepperell, Mass.; her sister, Margaret Hunt, of Peabody, Mass., and her sister, Louise Falt and husband, James, of Scarborough.
She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Dennis, in May 2011; by her son, Dexter Ray Therrien, in March 2009; and by her brothers, Raymond Lamb in 2002, and Richard Lamb in 1947.
Barbara was an active member of the Rangeley Free Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her kind heart and quick wit. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
