AUBURN — St. Dom’s exploded with 26 points in the decisive fourth quarter and Joe Bryant dropped in 26 and punched in five 3-pointers as the Saints (4-5) shook off Telstar with a 54-50 victory in a boys’ basketball game Saturday.
The Saints were down 25-14 before bouncing back in the second half. Andrew Gosselin and Tom Applegate each scored 10 points to help St. Dom’s cause.
Telstar Dominic Haines scored 20 points and was the only double-digit scorer for the Rebels (3-6).
Waterville 78, Oak Hill 41
WALES — Max Brown scored 27 points and Josh Gormley added 11 as Waterville walloped Oak Hill with a 78-41 victory.
The Panthers (6-5) had no problem building a 51-17 lead by halftime.
Sam Morin tried to keep Oak Hill above water with his 24 points. Waterville’s Alan Wood scored 10 points.
Hockey
St. Dom’s 5, M/HD/W 3
LEWISTON — Dan Nadeau and Chris Finlay each scored back-to-back goals as St. Dom’s rolled to a 5-3 victory over Maranacook/Hall-Dale/Winthrop in a hockey game Saturday night.
The Saints led 2-0 after the first period on Nadeau’s goals. The Saints struck again in the second period when Will Desmarais scaored on Troy Haefele and Zack DeBlois assist to make it 3-0.
But M/HD/W responded with back-to-back goals from Danny Condon to make it a game. He scored both on power plays.
Finlay wrapped it up for
the Saints with his two goals in the third period.
York 11, Leavitt 0
DOVER, N.H. — Adam Audet scored three goals to lead York to a 11-0 triumph over Leavitt on Saturday.
Jared Clauson added two goals for the Wildcats (4-2-2), while goalie Jared Posternak stopped all 21 shots for the shutout. Nick Allen had 34 saves for Leavitt (4-5).
