NORWAY – In response to increasing needs, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice is seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering to help home care patients and their families.
The training classes will focus on volunteer opportunities that support patients receiving home care services as they recover from illness, surgery or a new medical condition, according to Kathy Baillargeon, volunteer supervisor. Visiting Volunteers provide companionship and share in activities such as reading, card games or music.
The four-hour training class will be held in Norway on Thursday, March 15, from noon to 4 p.m. at Maine Veteran’s Home, 477 High St., South Paris.
All volunteers are valued members of the health care team, and are matched with patients in or near their communities. Preregistration is required for the classes. For more information, contact Volunteer Services at 795-9480 or 1-800-482-7412, ext. 1280.
