PORTLAND – Messalonskee High School defeated Lewiston High School 3–0 in Match play in the finals of the Maine High School Bowling Championships.

Messalonskee entered the tournament as the top seed and defeated Nokomis 3-1 in the quarterfinals. In the semi-finals, the Southern Maine Blizzard (Portland area Co-op) went up 2-1 over Meassalonskee in the best-of-5 match play before the Eagles’ Chris Hall marked in the 10th frame to secure a 2-pin win and to a fifth and deciding match. In match five, the Eagles jumped out to an early lead with  four strikes in the first five frames and went on to win 200–172 and the 3-2 match win.

In the Finals, Messalonskee continued on a run against Lewiston with consecutive match wins of 190-128, 196-138, and 175- 67 to take the title. Messalonksee team members are Chris Hall, Ben Hall, Erin Candage, Greg Pearson, Justin Rollins, and Dylan Allard and are coached by Stephanie Carter and Mike Desimone.

Lewiston defeated Madison High School in the quarterfinals 3-0 and Winslow 3-1 in the semifinals.

In the other quarterfinal matches, Winslow defeated Hermon 3-1 and Southern Maine beat Bangor 3-1.
