AUBURN — Rita (Rioux) Kohl, 85, of Minot, passed peacefully Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Hospice House.
She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 9, 1926, to the late Joseph Rudolph Rioux and Yvonne Goyette Rioux Knowles. Rita was educated at Holy Family, Jordan and Lewiston High School.
Rita loved to roller skate, dance, go to the movies and travel. Later in life, she enjoyed playing Pinochle, sewing and senior citizens trips.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Doyon; one great-granddaughter, Megan Benson; two great-great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Parker, all of Minot; a brother, Julien B. Rioux and his wife, Irene, of Pawcatuck, R.I.; a brother, Gerard Rioux and his wife, Dolores, of Monmouth; and several nieces and nephews.
Rita was predeceased by the love of her life, Herbert W. Kohl, Sept. 30, 1987, and they were married June 23, 1944; her granddaughter, Michelle Doyon; two brothers, Roger Rioux and Arthur Knowles; and a sister, Elizabeth Knowles Couturier.
