SCARBOROUGH — Doris “Dodi” LaPerle, 88, followed her beloved husband, Del, who predeceased her 16 days earlier, died Tuesday, March 6, at the Gosnell Hospice House.

She was born in Blaine, Jan. 27, 1924, a daughter of Wesley and Pearl (Bradbury) Terrell. She was a graduate of Bridgewater Classical Academy in Bridgewater. She worked for H.P. Hood and the State Highway Commission. She also worked with her husband, Del at LaPerle Bros. Memorials.

She was a communicant of The Parish of The Holy Savior St. Athanasius–St. John Church. She loved her children and grandchildren; she was an avid seamstress and cook; she enjoyed the camp at Worthley Pond.

She was married in Rumford, Aug. 12, 1950, to Delma L. LaPerle, who died in Portland, Feb. 19.

Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Kane and her husband, Michael, of Gray and Lisa Freitas and her husband, Oscar, of Cape Elizabeth; a son, Geary LaPerle and his wife, Debby, of Auburn; and six grandchildren, Sarah and Adam LaPerle, Devon and Alyssa Freitas, Matthew and Joshua Kane.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and four sisters, Shirley Gellatly, Betty Edmunds, Marie Nelson and Marylou Legere
