LEWISTON — Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community is offering a free, 12-week New Ventures business planning course on consecutive Thursdays.

It begins with an orientation on April 5 from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by interviews with each candidate. Classes will begin April 12 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and continue until graduation on June 28.

The course will cover topics such as customers, competitors, marketing, financial record keeping, taxes, legal aspects, financing and much more. At the end of 12 weeks, those participating will have a written business plan.

Class size is limited to 15. The deadline for applications is March 19.
