PERU — Donald L. Tripp, 62, of Peru, died early Friday, March 9, at his home. With the heart of a fighter, sense of humor still intact and his family by his side, angels came down from heaven, wrapped him in loving arms and took away all the pain.

He worked at Forster Mfg. in East Wilton before becoming self-employed in building and property maintenance. Also, he worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
He was a former member of the Rumford American Legion, VFW and Snowshoe Club. He was also active in local ATV clubs, as he was passionate about four-wheeling. He also enjoyed tinkering, being outdoors, wheeling and dealing, spending time with family and friends and following the New York Yankees. He was known for his sense of humor and his unique dancing style.
Donald is survived by his wife, Shelly (Marston) Tripp of Peru, whom he met in 1977 and after a 10-year engagement they married in Dixfield in 1987; children, Marcie Conley of Rumford, Crystal Varnum and her husband, Randy, of Peru, Amanda Marston and boyfriend, Randy Desmond, of Peru, Andrew Tripp of Peru, Brittany Tripp of Peru and Dylan Graham of Peru; five grandchildren, Bradley Bartlett, Keziah Conley, Elizabeth Varnum, Katherine Macdonald, and Austin Varnum; and a cousin, “Aunt” Sally Turbide of Mexico.
