A group of fifth- and sixth-graders at Park Avenue Elementary School in Auburn participated in a workshop Wednesday afternoon led by Michael Wingfield.
In the workshop, sponsored by L/A Arts, students not only learned some history, but were taught an African song they sang to the beat of drums Wingfield taught them to play.
After the hour-long workshop, Wingfield performed for the entire school and at the end, students from the workshop joined him to showcase what they learned.
