- Island music in Turner Chicks With Sticks will kick off the second annual Cabin Fever Concert Series at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Turner Community Church on Route 117. The steel drum combo, an offshoot of the larger Tinpanic Steel Band, plays island party music, calypsos and Jimmy Buffet-style arrangements. Concert-goers will get a chance to try out musical instruments. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to offset gazebo concert costs and church renovations. Homemade desserts and coffee will be served. Band members, above, from left, are Diane Mawhinney, Jill Longstaff, Deanna Kersey and Laurie Swart.
