PORTLAND — The Portland School of Ballet will perform the classic tale of Red Riding Hood and the Big “Bad” Wolf, told with a twist and narrated by Suzanne Nance of MPBN, on Saturday, April 7.
The performance, part of the Portland School of Ballet’s “Kids for Kids” series, will be at 11 a.m. on at Westbrook Middle School’s Westbrook Performing Arts Center, 471 Stroudwater St.
In this ballet version of the classic tale, Little Red Riding Hood encounters many delightful distractions — ladybugs, woodland flowers and swans — on her way to her grandmother’s house.
Recognizable music includes “Flight of the Bumblebee,” “Can Can” and “Morning Song.” Background images show scenes familiar to anyone who uses the network of trails maintained by Portland Trails.
For tickets, $10 for adults/$5 for children, call 772-9671 or visit www.portlandballet.org. Tickets will also be available at the door.
