AUBURN — Independent U.S. Senate candidate Angus King will be a keynote speaker at the Chick-fil-A Leadercast event to benefit the Auburn Police Activities League, the department announced Wednesday.
The daylong leadership training event will be broadcast live May 4 from Atlanta to hundreds of sites across the country, including Auburn, according a statement from Deputy Chief Jason Moen.
King, a former Maine governor, will be among nine leaders speaking from the Atlanta site. The others include CNN anchor and special correspondent Soledad O’Brien, NFL quarterback Tim Tebow and best-selling author John Maxwell.
King will appear live at the Auburn site to address community and business leaders during a special lunchtime session, the release said.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Auburn PAL Center, which is in the Chestnut Street neighborhood.
The Leadercast will be held at the East Auburn Baptist Church, 560 Park Ave., Auburn, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tickets are $99. Conference materials and lunch will be provided.
