WINTHROP — Irene B. Morse, 90, of North Monmouth, died Tuesday, April 17, in Winthrop.

Irene was born in North Monmouth, April 29, 1921, the daughter of Earl and Clara (Knowles) Curtis. She was a 1939 graduate of Monmouth Academy and worked as an apple packer at Chick’s Orchard for several years. She went on to be a clerk at the North Monmouth Post Office for 20 years.

Mrs. Morse enjoyed playing cards, snowmobiling, golfing, fishing and traveling. She visited Alaska twice in her life along with many other places in the U.S.

She is survived by her son, Leon L. Morse and his wife, Roberta, of North Monmouth; her grandchildren, Wanda Dupont and her husband, Scott, Laura Oatway, Bonnie Goyette and her husband, Paul and John Morse; two stepgrandchildren, Sariena Masiero and her partner, Irene Christianson and Deborah Robbins; her great-grandchildren, Michael Dupont, Ian Oatway, Adam and Paul Andrew Goyette and Autumn and Heaven Morse; her great-great-grandchildren, Kylie and Landon Goyette; and her stepgreat-great-grandchild, Dwayne Robbins.

Irene was predeceased by her husband, Leon A. Morse; her son, Dennis Morse; a brother, Maynard Curtis; and a sister, Winona Howard.
