The Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way, announces May programming for job seekers and those who are considering training to upgrade their skills to increase their employability.

Two new workshops have been added:

The Job Quest is 1.5-hour job search skills workshop to provide tools for a successful job search, offered at Central Maine Community College on May 17 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. To register, call 755-5239.

Mock Job Interviews is to master a job interview. Participating in the Resume/Interview Skills workshop is a prerequisite to attending this workshop, held at the CareerCenter on May 21 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. To register, call 753-9005.

The Professionals Moving Ahead group meets the first and third Thursday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. Network with other job seekers, professionals and business leaders. Registration not required. Topic for May 3, The Importance of having a Social/Digital Footprint for your Job Search: Moonfruit, Facebook, LinkedIn, Blogs, Discussion Groups, InnovateCV is presented by Patrick Therrien. On May 17 the topic will be public speaking, with a Dale Carnegie trainer.

Aging Worker Initiative connects aging workers (55 and older) with viable employment and training opportunities in the fields of health care, green energy and technology. It will be May 14, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Call 753-9005 to register.

Career Decision Making is a two-part workshop. The first day will be discussion tools to help make career decisions. The second day will be using the information gained to make decisions. It will be May 7 and 11, or May 21 and 25. Call 753-9005 for more information and to register.

Essentials of College Planning for Adults covers the basic steps for successful college enrollment. Register by calling 800-281-3703. Bring last year’s income tax forms to the appointment.

An adult education representative will be available from 10:15 to 11 a.m., May 2, 9, 16, 23 or 30. Call 753-9005 for more information.

Orientation for people with disabilities who are considering vocational rehabilitation services is held the third Friday of each month. Service providers are also welcome to attend. Registration not required. Held May 18, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

GATEway to Employment  is available every Thursday, 1-4 p.m. Call 753-9005 to register.

Job Search, Resumes and Interview Skills offers an in-depth exploration of job search, resumes, applications and interviews. Held at the CareerCenter May 10, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 753-9005 to register. Also held at the Auburn Public Library on May 17, 2 to 5 p.m. Call 333-6640 to register.

Job Search Tips for People with a Criminal History is offered May 4, 9 to 10 a.m. Call 753-9005 to register.
