LEWISTON — Marie Rose Cote, 94, of Lewiston, died Saturday, May 12, at Marshwood Nursing Home, with her family by her side.
She was born in St. Julie, Quebec, Canada, on May 26, 1917, the daughter of Wilfred and Mary Roy Samson.
She moved to New Britain, Conn., and worked for Fafnir Bearing Co. for 27 years.
Following the death of her husband, Romeo, whom she married on July 3, 1937, and who died in 2003, she moved to Plainville, Conn. to live with her son, Paul.
In 2004 she moved back to Maine. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning and she was a very giving person who always thought of others before herself.
She is survived by her two sons, Romeo and wife, Diane, of Arizona, and Paul of Monmouth; four granddaughters, Angela, Elena-Lee, Verneen and Romely; two great-grandsons, Scottie and Cody; and by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Real and Roland Samson; and two sisters, Adrienne Theriault and Laurette Leblanc.
The family wishes to thank Marshwood, Androscoggin Hospice and a very special thanks to her niece, Rosemarie Lamontagne, whom she loved dearly.
