CHICOPEE, Mass. — Barbara R. Grover, 71, passed away on May 12 at Holyoke Medical Center due to complications from cancer.

Born on July 16, 1940, in Brattleboro, Vt., she was the daughter of Henry (Tom) Laflam and Ruth Laflam.

She lived in Jay for several years. She received her associate degree from Mid State College in Augusta. She worked for Goodwill in Hopkinsville, Ky., and Santa Fe, N.M., as a retail store manager from 1995 until she retired in 2003.

She enjoyed being with her family very much. She loved to read and sew. She loved her cats! She loved the ocean.

Our mom was an amazing lady and a very loving person! She always did what she could for others, never wanting anything in return. She was also an amazing grandmother! We all loved her so much and she is going to be missed.

She is survived by her five children, Rick Grover and wife, Debbie, Christopher “Joe” Grover and his wife, Cindy, Terri Jeanne Harper, Jon Grover and his wife, Angela, and James Grover and his wife, Christina; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; two brothers, Tom Laflam, and Leslie Laflam and his wife, Nancy; two sisters, Delores Breen and her husband, John, and Beverly Farrington and her husband, Donald.

She was predeceased by her son, Thomas Grover; her father, Henry (Tom) Laflam; her mother, Ruth Laflam; and her brother, Philex Laflam.
