AUBURN — Valmont Mercier, of Lewiston, died Sunday May 27, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.
He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 21, 1920, a son of the late Joseph and Annee (Jacques) Mercier.
He attended school in Lewiston and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He married the love of his life, Aurore (Martin), on May 18, 1946.
He worked as a hand-sewer and was very proud of his skills. After retirement, he and “Ora” enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. Val enjoyed reading and professional sports, especially the Red Sox.
Valmont is survived by his wife, Aurore; his son, John and his wife, Debbie; his son Bob; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Jim, Lauren and Lindsay; great-grandchildren Caitlyn, Jacob, Carter, Ella, Coleman and Julia.
