Kimball tourney

Due to the relatively small turnout — in part because of the LPGA Legends event being conducted this weekend at Falmouth Country Club — the Maine State Golf Association has postponed the Tom Kimball “TK” Celebration tournament scheduled for this Sunday to Saturday, July 28.

In addition to the Scramble division, the MSGA will be adding an individual and team best ball event, and will have skins and pins as well. The MSGA Junior Championship is the following week and many juniors may choose to play in the event as their practice round.

You will be able to make your own groups and tee times, and if you don’t have a group, the MSGA will be happy to help you find one.

More information will be forthcoming with a new application forms as details are worked out. All money will be used this year to support junior golf by dedicating the funds to the new practice green at Val Halla, home to the state’s largest junior program and one of The First Tee of Maine’s affiliates. The green will be dedicated with a plaque with Kimball’s name.
