DURHAM — A Durham driver escaped with only a minor abrasion when he lost control of his pickup truck Sunday afternoon.

Sgt. Rielly Bryant of the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said Nicholas Barrington, 22, was northbound on Brown Road when he became momentarily distracted, went off the right shoulder and slammed into a tree.

Bryant said Barrington’s 1999 Dodge pickup was demolished in the 3:55 p.m. crash. No charges were filed.
