LEWISTON — For the summer The Center for Wisdom’s Women will be open 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The center will be closed on July 4 and July 23-Aug. 3 for vacation.

On July 19, the center will host a special evening program and open house sponsored by The Chaplaincy Institute of Maine (ChIME). Patricia Ellen will offer “Art and Image as a Pathway to the Spirit.” This event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. is free and open to the public. ChIME has been a supportive partner of the women’s center with several of the center’s Companions coming as interns from their interfaith chaplaincy program. Regular morning programs at the center are held every weekday from 10-11:30. The craft this month will be a plastic canvas project which is scheduled for the third.

The Wise Woman Cooking Group will meet with Denise Dill on July 10. Scrapbooking will be on the 11th and watercolor classes on July 5 and 19. SARK (playing with art) happens on July 12. Bingo is set for the 17th and the July birthday party on the 20th. Scrabble and other spelling games are scheduled for the 13th and a clothes give-away will happen on the 18th. The Writers Workshop meets weekly on Monday mornings.

Support groups at the center are planned from 1 to 2 p.m. On Tuesdays Wisdom Circle meets with Sarah Wood on the 3rd and 17th and Beating the Blues on the 10th. A Fibromyalgia group gathers every Thursday afternoon at 1. An Al-anon group meets Wednesdays at 12:15. On Monday afternoons, available options include games, L.O.L., card or collage making and various relaxing activities.

Personal hygiene items are given away and an oatmeal breakfast is available daily upon request. During all center open hours, Wisdom Boxes and chances on the rosette quilt raffle are available for sale. All women are welcome and programs are offered free of charge.
