LEWISTON — Eric Spencer Purrington, 46, of Lewiston, passed away Tuesday, June 26, at home, due to a heart attack.
He was born March 17, 1966, in Lewiston, a son of Thomas A. and Mildred Purrington. He lived in the Lewiston area his whole life and was educated in area schools.
Known to some as “Scooter,” Eric was an avid motorcyclist. Eric enjoyed helping people and was always just a phone call away to anyone who needed him. Eric loved children and treated every child as if they were his own.
Eric had a big heart and loved everyone freely and without judgement or limits. Eric lived life to the fullest and everyone could tell when he was around. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh with his family and friends. Without Eric in this world, it is going to feel like a great big beautiful tree that you loved was taken away and now all that remains is an empty void where the sun no longer shines as bright.
Eric is survived by his sisters, Jo-Ann Brunelle and her husband, Lucien of Lisbon Falls, Dody Boudreau and her husband, Gary of Millington, Mich., Karen “KK” Poisson and her husband, Dan of Lewiston and Monica Lee of Lewiston; 13 nieces and nephews; 16 great-nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
He was predeceased by both his parents; a sister, Nancy Lee Purrington Chabot; and a great-nephew, Robert Leroy Wesoja III.
