AUBURN — Olga Desrosier, 83, formerly of Litchfield, was granted her eternal rest on Friday, July 6, at the Hospice House, following a short illness.

She was born in Russia, Jan. 27, 1929, the daughter of Wilhelm and Wanda (Hinz) Kleis. Her family later established residence in Birkenfeld, Germany, where she would eventually meet the soldier she would marry.

On Aug. 8, 1952, she became the bride of Majorique C. Desrosier in Germany and once again married him on her birthday, Jan. 27, 1953, here in the U.S. She became a citizen of the United States on March 2, 1965.

Olga was a hard worker all of her life. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a waitress at Rolandeau’s Restaurant, where she was well-liked and often requested. She appreciated her customers equally as much. The greatest enjoyment of her life was looking out for her family, helping out in any way she could. She also enjoyed going back to her native homeland and spending time with her family there.

She will be sorely missed by her sons, Paul Desrosier and his fiancee, Betty Estes, of Litchfield and John Desrosier and wife, Linda, of Litchfield; daughter, Pauline Wimsett and husband, Chris, of Melbourne, Fla.; grandsons, Eric, Christopher, Michael and Brendan; one granddaughter, Christine; two great-grandchildren; her sisters, Hulda Ding and her husband, Oswald, of Birkenfeld, Germany and Hildegard Wagner of Birkenfeld, Germany; sister-in-law, Else Kleis; and several nieces and nephews.

Though it is our hearts that are now broken, we are comforted to know that she has been joyfully reunited in God’s kingdom with her husband, Majorique, who went ahead of her in 1994; her son, Ralph; and brothers, Raimund and Arnold.
