Voters of Auburn, Poland, Durham and New Gloucester should seize the opportunity to elect John Cleveland as state senator for District 15. We need now, more than ever, a seasoned and smart state senator.

Cleveland has served as state senator, mayor, Charter Commission chairman, and tireless volunteer for organizations such as the Auburn Public Library. His experience, people skills and foresight have made significant differences in education, public services and economic development. As register of probate, he significantly improved services of that department.

I attest to his commitment and abilities because I served in several of the same capacities and understand what makes a difference. Effective service in the Legislature requires more than party labels. Cleveland has the ability to listen to all interest groups.

District 15 can no longer afford weak representation in Augusta.

I support John Cleveland for the state Senate.
