LEWISTON — Barbara E. Green, 88, a longtime resident of Turner, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Friday, July 27, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston following a brief illness. 

She was born Feb. 21, 1924, in Livermore, the daughter of Charles and Ellen Philoon Langlin. She attended school in Livermore and was a graduate of Leavitt Institute in Turner. On May 25, 1947, she married her husband of 37 years, Alden A. Green. He passed away Feb. 27, 1985. They made their home and raised their family on General Turner Hill in Turner.

Barbara worked throughout the years at Priscilla Turner Rugs in Turner, CN Turner in Livermore and Ricker Hill Orchards in Turner. She enjoyed traveling, going to the agricultural fairs, cooking, doing puzzles, watching old western movies, going out to eat and visiting with family and friends. She especially enjoyed the time with her children and grandchildren. 

She is survived by her children, Steven Green and his wife, Pam; Gary “Skip” Green and his wife, Glenice; Valerie Green and Charles “Billy” Green and his wife, Darlene, all of Turner; grandchildren, Shelley Green and her companion, Matt Hiscock, Ryan Green and his wife, Edith, Tammy Birtwell and her husband, Mark, Barry Green; Barbie Clement and her husband, Ronnie, Michele Green, Kimberly Mason and her husband, Phil, Jenny Kingsbury and her husband, Adam Farrell, Scott Kingsbury and his wife, Kaitlyn and Stacy Norton and his wife, Sheri; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; her brother, Bernard Langlin and his wife, Jane of Livermore; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Charles Langlin Jr., William “Bill” Langlin and Mary Wilkins; and her grandson, Clint “Bo” Green.
