MEXICO CITY (AP) – Tropical Storm Norman formed far off Mexico’s Baja California coast on Monday, but was expected to lose strength as it headed toward land.
Norman, located about 650 miles southwest of the southern tip of the Baja peninsula, had winds of about 44 mph and was moving roughly north at about 7 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida. The storm was expected to take an eastward turn and weaken to tropical depression status or lower during the next few days.
