AUBURN — Lawrence T. Ridlon of New Auburn went to be with his wife on her birthday, Aug. 3, of liver disease.

He was born in North Monmouth, June 14, 1930, to James and Vivian Ridlon. Larry joined the Navy on June 28, 1948. He loved being in the Navy and serving his country. During his 20 years in the Navy, he received many medals and awards.

After retiring from the Navy, he worked for 25 years at Central Maine Medical Center as a boiler technician.

Larry was a member of the LeNational and the Pastime clubs in Lewiston. Larry was an all-around handyman, he enjoyed building furniture and tinkering around his house.

He is survived by his daughter, Vivian Ritchie and her husband, Bruce; four grandchildren, Victor Carey, Joyce Smith, Jennifer Ritchie and Jessica Ritchie; seven great-grandchildren, Daniel Carey-Tripp, Bruce Marquis, Marissa Weston, Marella Carey, Jada Carey, Brianna Bourgoin and Madisyn Bernard; he also leaves his estranged daughter, Joyce Duchette and her family. At his request, there will be no service.
