The Auburn municipal beach will be the scene of a fundraiser this weekend to help raise money for new equipment.
Thomas Wright of Lewiston tosses Jadan Beasley, 7, of Auburn into the air at the Auburn Municipal Beach Tuesday afternoon. Wright will be in charge of several events this coming weekend during the “Fun in the Sun Bash at the Beach” fundraiser. All proceeds from a yard sale and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday will help purchase new playground equipment, a dock and a float at the beach. A free event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. will include numerous activities: a 50/50 raffle, canoe rides, bounce house, bobbing for apples, a belly-flop contest at 2 p.m. and a hot-dog-eating contest at 3 p.m. The former Outlet, now being called the East Auburn Beach, is run by an all-volunteer group. For more information, or to donate cash, equipment or bottles, call Gary at 740-0223 or Barry at 513-9664.
