AUBURN — Elliott and Ellen Epstein of Auburn are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ariel Leah Epstein of Auburn, to Marc Eliot Pollack of Ventura, Calif., son of Dr. Ronald and Deborah Pollack of Ventura, Calif.
Miss Epstein graduated from Edward Little High School, class of 2001, and completed a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Southern Maine. Recently she completed a master’s degree in child life from the University of La Verne in Southern California. She has been an intern for the non-profit organization, Friends of Jaclyn, which serves children with brain tumors and their families, is a 10-year veteran volunteer with Camp Sunshine in Casco and completed a practicum at the University of California Irvine Medical Center. She has been employed with the Auburn School System and will be teaching at the UC Davis pre-kindergarten program when they move to Davis, Calif., in the fall. Currently, she also performs with different orchestras and bands around the country.
Mr. Pollack graduated from Foothill High School, Ventura, Calif., class of 2004. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from University of California Davis in 2008 and completed a master’s degree in bio-science from the Keck Graduate Institute in Claremont, Calif. In the fall, he will begin a PhD in microbiology at the University of California Davis. He has done extensive research in the field business of science, stem cell research and infectious disease research.
The wedding will be held at 3:30 pm. on Sept. 9 at Temple Shalom in Auburn, with Rabbi Hellel Katzir officiating.
