AUBURN — Geraldine “Blanche” Beaulieu, 85, of Lewiston, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, after a long illness and never complained a day in her life.
She was born in St. Hilaire, N.B., Canada, Dec. 11, 1926, a daughter of the late Jean and Emelda Picard Pelletier. She was educated in St. Hilaire schools. She was married to Albert Beaulieu, who died Oct. 28, 1984.
She was a member of the the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish and loved her work as a skiver at Billing Shoe Co. from 1972 until 1990, when she retired.
She will be remembered for her love of cooking for family gatherings, weddings, showers and also cooking and serving more than 40 lumberjacks. Geraldine loved watching her sons play sports, shopping, playing cards and going out to eat with her sister, Noella.
She is survived by her son and caregiver, Maurice “Moe” Beaulieu of Lewiston; seven grandchildren, Kyle Beaulieu and fiancee, Amanda Sasseville, Ricky, Debbie, Maureen, Amie, Matthew and Britany; six great-grandchildren, Kendra, Angella, Sherri, Anson, Jaylee and Jaydan; two great-great-grandchildren, Baily and Evan; her sisters, Albertine Lavoie of Newington, Conn., Dora Bossie and husband, Fernand, of Madawaska, Angeline Bosse and husband, Rene, of Lewiston, Noella Ouellette of Lewiston, Sister Irene Pelletier (FMA) of Campbellton, N.B., and Joan Couturier and husband, Arsene, of Meriden, Conn.; her brother, Gerard Pelletier and wife, Florence, of Lewiston; sister-in-law, Pauline Pelletier of Sabattus; and goddaughter, Theresa and husband, Rory Gustus, of Sabattus.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Beaulieu; son, Gerard “Stu” Beaulieu; her daughter-in-law, Susan Beaulieu; granddaughter, Lisa Michaud; and an infant son, Normand.
The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Mary’s on C2 and the staff at AHH Hospice House. A special thank-you to everyone who has helped us through this long journey and especially her sister, Noella, for being her constant companion.
