AUBURN — Brittany Eastman and Callie Greco each scored a goal in the second half as the St. Dom’s strolled away with a 2-0 victory over Boothbay (1-7) in an MVC field hockey game Wednesday.
Eastman scored with help from Greco and Melissa Murray. Greco scored her goal with assistance from Eastman and Murray.
The Saints (2-5-1) outshot Boothbay, 16-6 and St. Dom’s goalie Amanda Cortellino made six saves.
Lisbon 1, Oak Hill 0
LISBON — Hannah Jordan collected a nice pass from Sarah Craig and fired it into the cage from just inside the circle to give Lisbon a 1-0 victory over Oak Hill and keep their 2012 winning streak alive.
Jordan tallied the contest’s lone goal with 9:07 left in regulation. Stevie Charest needed only two saves to notch the shutout, while Abby Fuller turned aside 16 shots in the cage for Oak Hill (4-4).
Poland 7, Old Orchard Beach 1
POLAND — Poland exploded for six goals in the second half to pull away from Old Orchard Beach, 7-1, in WMC field hockey action Wednesday.
Amanda Dube led the onslaught with three of her four goals in the second half. Emily Gibson, Amanda Gibson and Kyle Sturtevant also got into the goal column for the Knights (2-3-1). Jamie Crowley scored the lone goal for the Seagulls (0-6). Melora Lavoie made six saves in the cage for Poland while Colleen Dyer turned aside six shots for OOB.
Girls’ soccer
Hebron 1, Proctor 0
LEEDS — McCaela Prentice scored in the first half on a Rachel Jurek assist and Hebron Academy (1-0) hung on for a 1-0 victory over Proctor (0-1) in a girls’ soccer game Wednesday.
Hebron goalie Olivia Brown made eight saves.
Hall-Dale 1, Mt. Abram 0
FARMINGDALE — Lilly Ly converted a nice pass from Eva Shepherd at the 33:25 mark of the forst half to give Hall-Dale a 1-0 victory over Mt. Abram in MVC girls’ soccer action Wednesday.
Olivia Maynard made four saves to preserve the shutout. Allison Lopez handled netkeeping duties for Mt. Abram (3-3-1) and turned aside eight shots.
Boys’ soccer
Spruce Mountain 5, Winthrop 2
JAY — Greg Whitney collected a hat trick as Spruce Mountain punched in five goals in the first half and coasted to a 5-2 victory in a boys’ soccer game Wednesday.
Zach Butterfield and Pat Ryan rounded out the scoring with their goals for the Phoenix (5-2). Ryan, Tyson Newman and Alex Hartford each earned an assist for Spruce Mountain.
The Ramblers (2-4-1) tried to close the gap when Dalton Cummins scored an unassisted goal and teammate Aaron St. Pierre followed with his goal on a Jake Valle assist. But Spruce Mountain still came out ahead thanks to the combined goaltending of Dustin Jones and Nick Guild.
