AUBURN — Beatrice Jeannette Levasseur, 85, formerly of Barker Arms, Auburn and a resident of Clover Healthcare died Thursday, Sept. 20.
She was born in Auburn, April 17, 1927, a daughter of the late Donat and Lea Boisvert Levasseur. Educated in Auburn schools, she was a graduate of St. Louis School, Class of 1943.
She worked 38 years in the local shoe industry and carried a second job part time at St. Mary’s Hospital, Central Maine Ice Arena, Currans Bean Sprouts and retired from Bolster Heights Nursing Home.
A member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish at St. Louis Church, she also belonged to the St. Louis Booster Club and New Auburn Senior Citizens.
She loved to travel to Cap de la Madeleine, Ste. Anne de Beaupre and to Jim’s House in Massachusetts.
She leaves several nieces and nephews and was called Aunt Bea by both friends and relatives though she had no children of her own.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Olivette Levasseur of Connecticut; her cousins, Yvette Frechette and Lucille Boisvert. She was dearly loved by all her extended family, Nicole Blouin, whom she loved as a daughter and her husband, Robert.
She was predeceased by a sister, Jeannette Beaudette; and a brother, Rene Levasseur.
