I support Angus King for the U.S. Senate on Nov. 6. Maine needs him.

As former governor of Maine (independent, 1995-2003), he is an experienced politician who knows it takes compromise to move government forward.

As an independent in the Senate, control of the Senate may well depend on which party King supports. Both parties are going to have to listen carefully to what he has to say. That gives him the leverage he will need to butt heads, challenge leadership, and shake up the status quo to force compromises on the budget and achieve sensible tax reform. He can protect Medicare and Social Security.

King would be most effective in creating jobs, promoting small business and developing sensible energy policies.

He has a track record. The public knows who he is and they know they can trust him.

Giving Angus King a chance to fix Washington will help all Maine people.
