PORT EWEN, N.Y. — The wedding of Amber Leigh Turpin and John Robert Dominowski was held at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 at Port Ewen United Methodist Church. Pastor John Senkewich officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Dominowski is the daughter of Tammy and Steve Ackerman of Port Ewen, N.Y., and the granddaughter of Joel and Louise Bunker of West Farmington. Mr. Dominowski is the son of Chris Cross of Schoharie, N.Y., and Bonnie Palmatier of Middleburg, N.Y.

Samantha Turpin, sister of the bride, gave a reading from I Corinthians, Chapter 13, Verse four through seven.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory satin gown in A-line style with beaded bodice and a chapel length train. She carried a bouquet of cream colored roses with burgundy carnations, eight small yellow daisies and satin leaves.

Samantha Turpin was maid of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Nicole Tierson and Joanna Bassami, friends. Abbie and Ali Mitchell, children the bride babysits, were flower girls.

The twin brother of the bridegroom, Mike Dominowski, performed the duties of best man. Usher was Joseph Turpin, brother of the bride. Jordon Hasbrouck, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.

A reception followed at the Robert Post Park on the Hudson in Ulster, N.Y., after which the couple traveled to Niagara Falls, N.Y. They are residing in Accord, N.Y.

The bride is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz and is currently working toward her master’s degree in childhood education. She is a substitute teacher.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Rondout Valley High School. He is OEM parts coordinator at Camping World in Kingston, N.Y.
