LEWISTON — Aline I. Racine, 83 of Lewiston, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, at Marshwood Healthcare, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Topsham, July 7, 1929, daughter of the late Ludger and Alice Cloutier Belanger. She was educated in Brunswick schools and was married in Brunswick, April 24, 1954, to Fernand P. Racine Sr.. He predeceased her March 29, 2011. Aline and her husband were Lewiston residents since 1982, moving here from Brunswick. Prior to her retirement she was employed in local shoe manufacturing.
Aline was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and also playing cribbage and watching hockey.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue Pearce and husband, David of No. Carolina, Diane Ashline of No. Carolina, Michael Racine and wife, Linda of Greene and Fernand Racine and wife, Nona of Greene; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cecile Giguere of Greene and Patricia Pattie and husband, Norman of Florida.
She was predeceased by her husband; a son-in-law, Gary Ashline; a sister, Theresa Lachance; and a brother, Romeo Belanger.
