I would like to speak on behalf of Rep. Paul Gilbert.
When a new interpretation for antique motorcycles did away with a long-standing exemption for stock motorcycles more than 25 years old, Gilbert submitted language to equalize antique cars and trucks, as well as motorcycles with the exemption. The bill was submitted as emergency legislation to allow the law to go into effect prior to the motorcycle season to allow owners of antique motorcycles the use of them that season.
Gilbert is easy to speak to and approachable. His long-term employment at the Department of Labor gives him a real perspective on the devastation of a person losing their job and difficulties in finding another, something way too common in today’s economy.
