A month ago, Larry Poulin knocked on my door and introduced himself. I asked who he was running against and he said “It’s an open seat that was formerly Dick Wagner’s.” An hour later he stopped back to talk with my wife, and she also asked him who he was opposing and he repeated the same thing.
Later we saw Poulin signs in our neighborhood. Since he was running unopposed, was he just wasting clean election money?
Then I found out he was running against Nate Libby a well-respected community member. I wondered, how many other people whose door he had knocked on, thinking he was unopposed, might vote for Poulin.
If he can’t truthfully answer the most basic question while standing at someone’s door, I don’t want him in Augusta. There are already enough people there who won’t tell the truth.
I am voting for Nate Libby.
