TROY, N.Y. — Jordan Charest of Lewiston has been awarded the Rensselaer Medal from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Charest is a student at St. Dominic Academy.

The Rensselaer Medal recognizes the superlative academic achievement of young men and women, and motivates students toward careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines.

Each participating high school is allowed to select one member of the junior class to be honored with the award.
