BERLIN, N.H. —  St. Kieran’s Community Center for the Arts will host the premier of the Plymouth State University student film, “The Berlin Mural,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8.

Last summer 24 murals celebrating the history of Brown Co. in Berlin, which Plymouth State University students had created, were installed on the side of the Brown Co. Research and Development Building at the Northern Forest Heritage Park.

Subsequently, on the occasion of the N.H. Preservation Alliance’s 25th anniversary, the alliance recognized the 12 student artists as New Hampshire’s Young Preservationists “for helping to investigate, preserve and promote the state’s heritage.”

The Berlin mural project, in the alliance’s words, “transforms the building’s appearance and helps tell the story of the development and impact of what was the largest paper manufacturer in the world.”

The buildings were also placed on the Alliance’s Seven to Save list in 2010 and are nationally significant as one of the earliest privately-owned research and development facilities in the United States.

As part of that project, PSU student Kaleb Hart produced a documentary film on the research, design and production of the murals.

St. Kieran Arts Center is located at 155 Emery St. For more information, call 1-603-752-1028 or visit www.stkieranarts.org.
