AUBURN — The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA announces that Ben White is its health and wellness director.
He joined the YMCA family in September. He grew up in Auburn and has come back to raise his family here.
White will lead community efforts to encourage healthy living through group exercise programs, personal training, education, active living events, nutrition and overall wellness.
Before working for the YMCA, White’s experience included college recreation administration, where he oversaw collegiate fitness, sports and aquatics programs, facilities and operations. He was also a personal trainer in Lexington, Mass.
As a lifelong lover of sports, health and fitness, he has been personally involved in a wide variety of wellness and athletic endeavors, including football, volleyball, track and field, skiing and triathlon. He is a 1996 graduate of Edward Little High School and holds a bachelor of arts degree from Stonehill College and a master of science degree in exercise and sport science degree from Oregon State University.
White lives in Auburn with his wife and two daughters.
