1945 – 2012

AUBURN — Jerome C. “Jerry” Kidder, 67, of Main Street, Dixfield, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

He was born July 20, 1945, in Lewiston, the son of John and Georgina (Shields) Kidder and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford.

He served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam Era as a corporal from 1965 to 1968. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 3335, Jay, American Legion Post No. 178, Waterville and Albert Worthen Chapter No. 3, DAV.

Jerry worked at Newpage Paper Mill in Rumford until retirement as an electrician. He enjoyed fishing at Mooselookmeguntic, attending sporting events for his grandchildren and spending time with friends at the horse races.

He was married Aug. 17, 2012 in Dixfield to Sharon Garrett, who survives of Dixfield. Other survivors include sons, Jeff Kidder of Dixfield, John Kidder and wife, Patty of Rumford;  daughters, Wendy Varney of Dixfield, Toni James and husband, Blair of New Zealand; grandchildren, Cameron and Dylan Kidder, Caleb Turner, Brooke and Colby Varney, Adam Downs and Isabeau James; daughter-in-law, Denise Kidder of Dixfield.
