Coach: Tom Smith (second year)
Last year’s record: 0-18
Returning players: Seniors — Kelsey Lamothe (6-1 forward), Chuck Little (5-4 guard), Sam Morin (5-10 guard), Dustin Beard (6-1 guard); Juniors — Parker Asselin (6-0 guard/forward), Brady Dion (5-6 guard), Derek Gamage (6-5 center); Sophomores — Alex Mace (5-10 guard), Kyle Fields (6-3 forward).
Key losses: None.
Promising newcomers: Seniors — Dalton Burns (5-1 guard), Trever Samson (6-1 forward/guard); Junior — Luke Washburn (6-3 center).
Outlook: After a brutal final season as the smallest school in the KVAC, the Raiders finally get a chance to pick on teams their own size (and smaller, mostly) in the MVC. Better yet, Oak Hill is a year older and stronger and gets back three top players who didn’t suit up a season ago. Burns, Dion and Samson all are capable of playing the point. There’s size with Gamage and the addition of Washburn in the middle. And the Raiders had an entire year plus a full summer schedule to get acquainted with Smith’s system.
Coach’s comment: “Night-in and night-out, it will be a lot easier for us to match up.” — Coach Tom Smith
