LEWISTON — Lorraine R. Bouley, 88, of Auburn, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, at Marshwood Health Care Facility.

She was born in Lewiston, Aug. 28, 1924, daughter of Antonio and Rosilda Boucher Desmarais. She attended Auburn schools. In her early days, she worked at the Singer Sewing Center on Lisbon Street. She met the love of her life, Roger Emile Bouley and waited for him to return from World War II. They were married on Oct. 20, 1945.

Lorraine spent the rest of her life as a homemaker and hand-laced shoes at home while raising her four children. Lorraine was also known as an accomplished tailor who was second to none. She sewed many of her daughter’s dresses and jackets for her three boys. She took great pride in her home, along with sewing, her flower and vegetable gardens and cooking for her family and guests during the holidays.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Irene Luzi and husband, Bill, of Kissimmee, Fla.; three sons, Roger Bouley and wife, Sue, of Litchfield, Norman Bouley of Auburn and Maurice Bouley and wife, Louise, of Greene; a daughter-in-law, Claudia Bouley of Lewiston; her brother, Raymond Desmarais and wife, Gilberte, of Lisbon; 11 grandchildren, Frankie and Tony Sasso, Scott, Matthew, Bobbi and Jonathan Luzi, Mark, David and Zachary Bouley and Skyler and Michael Bouley; and two great-grandchildren.

Lorraine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roger, who she has been reunited with in heaven; and her sisters, Jeanette Cote and Mugette Bourget.

Lorraine’s family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and caregivers at Marshwood Healthcare Facility for making her final years on earth very peaceful.
