LEWISTON — Denise L. Lajoie, 84, of Lewiston died Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Montello Heights.

She was born in Lewiston, Oct. 29, 1928, the daughter of Joseph and Laure (Levesque) Lajoie. She graduated from Lewiston High School and immediately pursued her career as deputy city clerk for the City of Lewiston and worked there for 37 years until her retirement in February 1987.

Shortly after her retirement, Denise found her passion for art, having given her art pieces to all of her nieces and nephews. She also found another hobby in quilting, belonging to the “Classic Quilters.” Besides her art and quilting, she also enjoyed reading, sewing, singing, dancing and traveling.

She is survived by her sisters, Lucille Lajoie Terrio and Florence Lajoie Potvin. Denise will be sadly missed by all of her nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Antonio, Lucien, Gerard, Paul and Laureat; and her sister, Jeanne Lajoie Boucher.
