AUBURN — Fernand L. Lapointe, 62, of Auburn, passed away Thursday, March 7, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care, with his loving family at his side.

He was born in Lewiston, Oct. 7, 1950, son of the late Armand and Bernadette Lepage Lapointe. He was educated in Lewiston schools, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1968. Fern was married June 19, 1971 to Louise Gauvreau.

As a wine consultant at Trader Joes in Portland, he enjoyed speaking with customers and helping them find the perfect wine for any occasion. For many years prior, he was a wine salesman for Central Distributors and Federal Distributors. He loved driving all over Maine talking to people about wine.

Fern enjoyed camping, cooking, planning wine and charity events, but especially spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Louise of Auburn; two daughters, Michelle Hill and husband, Craig, of Lewiston and Nicole Lapointe and her fiance, Sean Michaud, of Portland; two grandchildren, Carter and Kendall Hill; two sisters, Claire Plourde and husband, Maurice and Diane Caron and husband, Richard, all of Lewiston.
