LEWISTON — The Young Professionals of the Lewiston Auburn Area will host “Y-Not?” a civic engagement and grass roots economic development program designed to educate, motivate and recruit the next generation of community leaders.

Beginning with the kick-off celebration on March 28 at the Good Shepherd Food-Bank, Y-Not participants will team up to spend two weeks increasing their knowledge of local government, businesses and nonprofit organizations. They will become more critical readers of newspapers, more informed contributors to public policy debates, and positive community ambassadors. They will expand their personal and professional networks and help bridge the gap between established community leaders and the next generation. To register, go to: www.yplaa.com.

The Y-Not program will conclude on May 18 with prizes, food and entertainment at the Y-Not finale celebration.

The program is funded by a grant from the Thayer Corp., as well as a project grant from the Maine Development Foundation.

YPLAA is a division of the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored annually by Center Street Dental and Bangor Savings Bank.
