PORTLAND — Sandra Kay Thompson Austin, 63, of Poland, died Thursday, March 7, at Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lincoln, Nov. 24, 1949, the daughter of Lloyd Robert and Lura Gertrude DeWitt Byers. She graduated from college with an associate degree and had been employed locally at Pineland as a MedTech/CNA, as a pharmacy tech at Kmart and as a phlebotomist and receptionist at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Mechanic Falls. She enjoyed being a Pampered Chef consultant and she was an avid reader.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Austin of Poland; a daughter, Tonya Fons and her husband, Brian, of Auburn; son, Dale Dill and his wife, Amy, of Auburn; stepson, Rob Austin and his wife, Amy, of Poland; and grandchildren, Mazie Farr of Lewiston, Katya and Dasha Fons of Auburn and Anthony, Austin and Gracie Beauchamp of Missouri.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Lloyd Thompson; and a son, Matthew Thompson.
