Hotel Rumford/Ranor,Inc. prevail in 2012/13 MVRBL Championship

RUMFORD —   In what proved to be a very competitive and well played game, Hotel Rumford/Ranor outlastedLaid Back Installers, 67-52. 

Defense and intensity were displayed from the start, as both teams battled back and forth for the first 30 minutes of the game in a virtually deadlocked contest.  The half time score was 33 a piece, even though both teams averaged in the high 90’s during the year.     

Hotel’s Chris Willerhad an outstanding game offensively and defensively and led his team with 19 points.  Andy Shorey, Jr. also had a great game, with 17 points, 12 rebounds.  Kevin Gallant added ten  points and four rebounds. Veterans Scot New had six points and six rebounds.

LBI was led by Eric Canwell with 15 points, 13 rebounds, two steals, and a  block. John Benjamin contributed 13 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Chirs Baxter helped with 11 points, eight rebounds and one block.  JT Taylor also was a factor with nine points and three  assists.    

The league will next host their invitational tournament on March 22-24.  They will also contribute donations to The Mountain Valley Athletic Boosters and The Mountain Valley Middle School PTO in appreciation for use of the facilities through out the year.
