WILTON — A public hearing on a demolition ordinance amendment is planned when the Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at the town office.
The board will take comments, answer questions and review the ordinance before a vote is taken at the annual town meeting in June, Paul Montague, code enforcement officer, said.
The ordinance vote was included in last June’s meeting but due to a clerical error was not voted on, he said. It basically says the state has certain regulations pertaining to asbestos and lead removal when properties are demolished, including those destroyed by fire.
In other business, the board expects to discuss a preapplication for a seven-lot subdivision next to the golf course on Country Club Road.
Engineers Thomas DuBois and Esther Bizier of Main-Land Development Consultants in Livermore Falls have begun the town permitting process on the project for Jeff Harris of Harris Golf.
A survey has been completed and lots of more than an acre determined, Bizier said Monday.
This is the start of the Planning Board process for the project, Montague said. An application review, including a walk over the property by the board and public hearing, is expected before a vote on whether to approve it, he said.
The board will also review two applications for use permits, one by MAS Home Care of Maine from Westbrook to run a home health care agency in the Bass Building.
The other is requested by Vern Martin to use the site at 351 Main St., the former Shirt Tales space, for a karate school.
