1919 – 2013
AUBURN — Alice R. Houle, formerly of 11 Bradford St., passsed away on Thursday, March 21.
Alice was born in Lewiston, on June 10, 1919, daughter of Charles and Marilda (Morin) Roy. Alice attended local schools and was employed in the local mills before her marriage to Arthur F. Houle in Nov. 1941. Together they raised three children.
Alice was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of Saint Anne’s Sodality. Alice was active in her community as a Boy Scout den mother and leader of a Girl Scout troop. In later years, Alice conducted weight loss classes known as “Happy Eaters.” She also taught line dancing at Lewiston High School evening classes.
Alice was able to live independently and happily in her own home until she was 93. She then resided at Schooner Estates. Alice was devoted to her family and many friends. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Pauline Fournier and husband, Paul, of Lewiston, Rita Faudi and husband, Philip, of Pennsylvania; her son, Leo and wife, Maureen, of Dixfield; her grandchildren, Michele Lucca and husband, Dorian, of Yarmouth, Scott Houle and wife, Elaine, of New Hampshire; great-grandchildren, Amber Houle, Owen Houle, Evan Lucca, Tyler Lucca, Carter Lucca; and many nieces and nephews.
Alice was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; and her four sisters, Eleanor, Bertha, Aurore, Cecile; and brother, Henry.
