LEWISTON — Upcoming special events at The Center for Wisdom’s Women in April include two visits from the Art Van on the 10th and 24th at 10 a.m. In April they will do weaving projects that focus on new things to weave into your life.

In recognition of Earth Day, on April 19 at 10 a.m., Bridget from Lots to Gardens will help participants start seedlings for the new planters.

The monthly Full Moon Singing Circle meets next at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 25. No experience needed. Hot tea will be provided. Bring a munchie to share if you can.

Cooking sessions in April include the Wise Woman Cooking Club with Denise from the Nutrition Center at 10 a.m. April 9, bread baking at 1 p.m. April 15 and sunflower cookie making at 1 p.m. April 22.

A class about making laundry detergent is set for 1 p.m. April 9 and one for making soap will be held at 1 p.m. April 23. Other classes to help women save money include a requested repeat of “Living on a Tight Budget” at 10 a.m. April 11 and a new program called “Help with Housekeeping 101” at 10 a.m. April 23.

Several support groups meet regularly at the center, including groups for fibromyalgia, Al-Anon, and a grief support group by Beacon Hospice which will begin meeting weekly at 4 p.m. starting Thursday, April 4.

The Writer’s Workshop meets on Mondays at 10 a.m. Art and craft classes in April include a watercolor painting class with Dot Treadwell on April 18, a craft on April 16 and a flower collage activity on the 30th. The monthly bingo day is April 30. A May Day Tea Party is scheduled for 10 a.m. on May 1.

The center will be closed for vacation the week after Easter, April 1-5. The complete schedule of events is posted at www.wisdomswomen.org.
